The Critical Skills Work Visa allows foreign nationals in occupations on the South African Critical Skills List to work in South Africa without a prior job offer. The visa is valid for 5 years. After working in South Africa for 5 years, holders can apply for permanent residence. The Critical Skills List includes occupations in engineering, healthcare, IT, science, and education.

Eligibility Requirements
- ✓Occupation listed on the current Critical Skills List (published by DHET)
- ✓Proof of qualifications: degree or professional certification in the field
- ✓Evaluation of foreign qualification by SAQA
- ✓Registration with the relevant South African professional or statutory body
- ✓No criminal record (police clearance from home country and SA)
- ✓Medical certificate of good health
