Overview

The Subclass 189 visa is a permanent residence visa requiring no employer or state/territory sponsorship. You must be invited to apply through the SkillSelect system, have your occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list, and score at least 65 points on the points test. It covers two streams: Points-tested and New Zealand.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Competent English: IELTS 6.0 overall (or equivalent)
  • Points score of at least 65 from the points test
  • Meet health and character requirements
