Overview
Ireland operates a managed employment permit system. The two main types are the Critical Skills Employment Permit (for high-demand occupations, no labour market test required) and the General Employment Permit (for other roles, labour market needs test required). Permits are employer-sponsored and lead to Stamp 4 permission (no work permit required) after 2 years (Critical Skills) or 5 years (General).
