Overview
Germany's Employment Residence Permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis zur Beschäftigung) allows qualified non-EU nationals to work in Germany with a job offer. The qualification must be recognised or comparable to German standards. After 2 years, holders can apply for an EU Long-Term Resident Permit; after 5 years, for permanent settlement (Niederlassungserlaubnis).
